2Monday nights has gotten rough for the old TV watcher as there are 5 things on I normally watch. Here’s what I do:
1. Watch Prison Break live in HD,
2. Watch 24 live in low-def while I tape Heroes in HD,
3. Watch recorded Heroes in HD while I tape Studio 60 in HD and CSI-Miami in low-def,3 4|
As I have said before, I respect the office of the Presidency, but it is getting more and more difficult for me to respect the current administration occupying the White House. Why should I respect the White House if they do not even respect a former President? I think comments like that are a reflection of our current president, whether the words came from him directly, or through a spokesperson. And it is an ugly reflection.
4. Watch recorded Studio 60 in HD.
5. Watch CSI-Miami sometime later.
Whew! Why do I watch all these shows? Because they’re great? Here’s the recaps. Don’t read these if you’re spoiler-averse, but I’ve put the real spoilers in Inviso-text…

Our perfect day was topped off with my getting miserably lost. Which isn’t necessarily perfect, just expected. I always find my way back to familiar territory; we just cross a few state lines before we get there. By the time I did finally find my way back to downtown Dwaine was ready to leave work so we just picked him up. Since he was home early there was lots of time for the 3 Lee Men to wrestle before dinner. With yummy soup in our bellies and all tuckered out, we all fell asleep to the sound of the wind knocking on our windowpanes. It was a perfect day in all of its simplicity.
December…addendum
Today was my other perfect day…
The GOP Baby and I listen to C-Span radio in the morning. My favorite segment is, of course, open calls, where the average American gets to spout off on some issue of the day. This morning the main topic is the indictment of Congressman Jefferson (D LA), he of the 90k in the freezer (I’ve checked my freezer; no gifts from the money gnomes).
The surprising thing are all the callers who don’t care about the allegations against the Congressman, but rather, use this as an excuse to rant about Bush, who, according to one caller is the “greatest liar of all time.” Okay, it really is not surprising; I’m just trying to avoid being completely cynical.
Again, the boys and I found ourselves downtown taking a walk and looking for adventure. It was a crystal clear icy cold day and we were on our way to see the National Christmas Tree. This immense tree is on brukte biler

The Ellipse outside of the White House. A few nights ago we had gone to see the big tree, lights and all of the 50 small trees that are decorated to represent each of the states. Typically, I’m not not one for surprise visits but last evening was one of the exceptions to the rule. Last night two friends (Roy Matthews and David Baker) from when I used to live here in the Tri-Cities dropped by around 8:00pm. We visited for about 2-1/2 hours. It was very very enjoyable to have these two gentlemen drop by. I appreciated their visits and look forward to rekindling our friendships.

Feeling Happy
Life IS Beautiful
Word of the day: madeleineROO-muh-nayt\ verb: *1 : meditate, muse
2 : to chew repeatedly for an extended period. What Connor could not stop talking about that night were the 10 model trains set up around the big tree. We braved the chill the next day to go see the trains in daylight hours. But seeing the trains wasn’t the best part of our day. I often wonder what it is like to go through life so fixated on someone (or some group) that every action is filtered through that obsession. Shouldn’t one’s opinion of the merits of the indictment be based on the facts of the case, not on a blind hatred of President Bush? The best part was when we saw 3 huge helicopters fly no more than 50 feet overhead. The presidential helicopter was landing on the White House lawn and the two decoys with it flew off in opposite directions. The noise hurt our ears and the wind from the propellers whipped our faces…it was great! President Bush got out to make a
